A Patterdale terrier at Cardiff Dogs Home rescue centre is now ready for adoption having fought off a large open wound full of infection.
Cardiff Dogs Home shared the news on their Facebook page accompanied by stomach-churning pictures of the original wound which clouds half of the Terrier’s face, eye to nose.
Wendy arrived at Cardiff Dogs Home a few weeks ago in pain and sporting a large open wound across her face which had become infected.

The four-year-old Terrier’s whole body was also covered in ticks.
After weeks of round-the-clock care, Wendy has made significant improvements and is looking for a home.
A post on Cardiff Dog Home’s Facebook page said: “Wendy is a four-year-old Patterdale terrier who arrived in our care in a terrible state.
“She had a very large open wound on her face and was full of infection. She also had hundreds of ticks all over her body.
“She is looking and feeling so much better. She still has a way to go but we feel she is now ready to move to her potential home on a foster basis, until the vet is happy to sign her off.
“Wendy is true Patterdale through and through. She will require an active home who are able to meet her every need. She is a very loving girl and is a sucker for a cuddle.
“Her prey drive is very high and we feel a pet-free and dog-free home will suit her best.
“She has a love for the outside world and will always be looking for her next adventure, so careful management with keeping her safe is a must.”
