Dog walkers warned as raw sewage leaks out on popular Bridgend park

Residents have been warned of a raw sewage leak at a park in Bridgend.

The sewage is seeping out of a drain in Pandy Park, Ynysawdre, known for hosting Tondu's rugby club.

The leak has been reported and is cordoned off with tape and cones, however, it is still accessible to dogs and children.

Additionally, the sewage appears to be spreading past the cordoned off area, posing a greater threat to those nearby.

A resident reports it has been ongoing for a "couple of weeks" and "stinks to high heaven".

"My main worry is that dogs and children can still get to it, and the cones are easy to move.

"If a child fell into that face down... It needs to be addressed."

Bridgend County Borough Council said it was aware of the incident.

A spokesman said: “This was reported to us on Friday and was dealt with on Saturday morning. Welsh Water have been informed and are investigating the cause.”
