CCTV footage shows the moment a dog walker was struck down by lighting, before Good Samaritans saved him.
Alexander Coreas can be seen walking his three dogs when a bolt of lightning hits him, knocking him face-first to the ground as his pets run away.
Workers at a nearby vet clinic in Spring, Texas, saw what happened and rushed to Mr Coreas' aid, performing CPR on him when they realised his heart had stopped beating.
His clothes were burnt and his socks were blown off by the lightning strike on Thursday.
Christy Mittler, a worker at Stuebner Airline Veterinary Hospital, said she and two others worked on Mr Coreas until they felt a pulse.
She told ABC13 : "We rolled him over and we were sweeping out his stuff. We were knocking him on his back, telling him, 'It's okay. You got hit by lightning'."
Security cameras at the clinic captured the whole episode, including the arrival of paramedics, who put Mr Coreas onto a stretcher and placed him on an air ambulance.
The dog walker is currently in an intensive care unit and suffering from burns and serious pain.
His family said: "He sustained very serious injuries but by the grace of God he is alive. It is a miracle and a blessing that he is alive.
"Bill Wilson, a vet technician from Stuebner Airline Veterinary Hospital found him without a heartbeat.
"At this time he was found dead and immediately Mr Wilson started CPR. Corey Hart also helped. Mr Hart and Mr Wilson took turns during chest compressions. Christy Mittler also helped."
His sister wrote on a GoFundMe page: "It is with great sadness that he has lost hearing on his left ear. He has burn marks from the lightning strike following his chest down to his thigh and on his left foot."
However, Mr Coreas is now able to stand and hoping to start physical therapy in the near future.
