An investigation is under way after a man was stabbed in Gateshead.
The victim was out walking his dog near Campion Gardens in Beacon Lough on Tuesday night when he was approached by two men and a woman.
Police say they then attacked the man and he suffered "injuries consistent with a stabbing".
The culprits fled the scene before police arrived but officers have now released descriptions of three suspects that they want to trace.
The first male has been described as white, in his early 20s, around 5’6 and of thin build. He was believed to have been wearing dark Nike trainers and an old green Barbour style jacket.
The second male has been described as white, in his 20s, around 5’6 and of thin build.
The female is described as white, in her early 20s, of slim build with blonde hair. She was wearing a dark-coloured hooded top with a pocket on the front, light grey tracksuit bottoms and white trainers.
A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “At 11.20pm on October 29, police received a report of a suspected stabbing on Beacon Lough Court, Gateshead.
“It was reported that a man was walking his dog when he was approached and attacked by two males and a female.
“The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries consistent with those of a stabbing. The attackers made off from the scene before officers arrived.
“An investigation has been launched and enquiries are ongoing to trace those involved. Anyone with information is asked to contact 101 quoting reference 1183 291019 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
