Dog walker shocked to see water leak outside Arnold Leisure Centre

A dog walker said he saw 'steam' coming from a Nottinghamshire leisure centre after a water leak.

Footage shows water emerging from the doors of Arnold Leisure Centre, in High Street, during the early hours of Saturday morning.

A spokesperson at the council said it was caused by an air lock in a pipe after work was carried out on the centre.

Tom Foster, who took the video just after midnight on February 27, said: "I was walking along Bonington with my two dogs on my way home and I saw steam from the far side of the car park.

"As I walked closer, I started to see the floor was flooding from the swimming baths.

"I could see it leaking through the double doors that led directly to the swimming pool.

"There may have been a malfunction with the pool system because I haven’t seen that before in my life."

A Gedling Borough Council spokesperson said: "We had some work done on Friday which caused an air lock in a pipe and it caused some water to leak near the fire doors. There was no damage done to the centre, just some water egress."
