Dog walker knocked unconscious by group in robbery at Mansfield park

An appeal has been launched after a dog walker was knocked unconscious and had items stolen during a robbery at a Mansfield park.

The victim, a 31-year-old man, was approached by three men in Carr Bank Park, off Windmill Lane, at about 6am on Monday, July 13.

The man was asked for a lighter by the men, before he was struck to the head and knocked unconscious.

The offenders then took his mobile phone and belongings before fleeing the scene.

Detective Sergeant Mark Shaw, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We are working hard to establish the circumstances of this incident and would like to hear from anyone who witnessed what happened. Thankfully the victim wasn’t seriously injured.

"Our enquiries are ongoing and I would urge anyone who has any information to please contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 126 of 13 July 2020."
