Dog walker finds mysterious bones in woodland

A dog walker discovered bones while strolling through woodland.

The man and his dog discovered the bones under a tree in Storeton Woods, Wirral last night (April 10) at 6pm. and police are still at the scene today.

Police descended on the wooded area, according to reports on social media.

The mysterious bones were forensically examined and found to be from an animal and not human.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police told the ECHO : "We can confirm we are investigating following the discovery of bones in Bebington yesterday (10th April). 

"A man was walking his dog in Storeton Woods at around 6pm, when he came across the bones under a tree in the woods."

They added: "The bones will be forensically examined to determine whether they are human or animal bones. 

"Investigations are ongoing at the location."
