Dog walker assaulted in broad daylight as she walked along Toryglen street

Police are hunting for two men who assaulted and attempted to rob a woman as she walked her dog.

The incident happened on Monday (May 27) at around 4.30pm, as the victim made her way along Glenmore Avenue in Toryglen.

The 58 year-old had been approached by the suspects, who pushed her to the ground and tried to steal money from her, but they ran off empty handed.

The two men are described as white, 5ft 4 inches – 5ft 5 inches in height and in their early twenties. 

They were both wearing dark coloured clothing.

The woman was uninjured, however she is badly shaken.

Detective Constable Mark Milroy of Helen Street Police Office is appealing for information. 

He said: “We have been carrying out enquiries to identify the two men responsible for this attack and would ask any members of the public who may have seen this incident take place, or who has information that will assist our enquiries to please come forward.”
