Dog trapped outside on one of the hottest days of the year rescued by firefighters

Fire crews were called out to rescue a dog who had got herself stuck in an old tumble dryer vent.

Lexi had to be rescued by members of the Long Eaton fire station on Saturday, July 17.

They have praised her for being "so calm" throughout the incident - she was unharmed after the escape.

They were able to get her out after removing one brick.

A spokesperson for Long Eaton fire station said: "This morning [July 17] we were called out to assist Lexi the dog who had got herself stuck in an old tumble dryer vent.

"She was so calm throughout the whole ordeal and we were pleased that after removing one brick we were able to free her. We can confirm she was up and running and went straight for her water bowl.

"Just take a few minutes to make sure your gardens are pet safe and there aren’t any areas they can become trapped or tangled."
