Dog the Bounty Hunter accused of proposing to Moon Angell to 'spite his kids'

Dog the Bounty Hunter has been accused of proposing to his girlfriend Moon Angell just to spite his children.

There has been a rift within the TV star's family ever since he began dating Moon, who is said to be the ex-girlfriend of one of his sons.

She also acted as maid of honour at his wedding to late wife Beth, who lost her battle with cancer last year.

Dog, whose real name is Duane Chapman, was seen proposing to Moon Angell in a teaser clip from an upcoming episode of The Dr Oz Show.

The 66-year-old is said to have left his children enraged after popping the question to Moon on the show.

A family insider says Dog's children this his relationship with Beth's best friend is "crazy".

The source told The Sun Online: "Dog's family thinks the whole Dr Oz proposal is crazy. None of them are fans of Moon - and none of them are happy about the relationship.

"There's been a lot said both publicly and privately by family members about the whole thing."

Just last month, Dog's daughter Lyssa lashed out at his new relationship with Moon.

She tweeted: "You’re a disgusting woman.

"Any person who moves in on a man weeks after losing his wife, who you were supposed to be a ‘friend’ to, is the lowest scum on the planet."

She added: "If someone who met your family by dating your brother tried to date your father after your step-mom died, what would you do?"

Defending herself, Moon fired back: "We’re talking about ONE person destroying more than one person here. NOBODY is behaving like she is. A child who never even loved Beth.

"You people don’t want the truth and keep rewarding bad behavior. Something, even family, must walk away from family."

The proposal clip was released yesterday.

In it, Dog is seen getting emotional as he turns to his new lover and says: "Moon Angell, will you marry me?"

The clip ends before her answer can be heard, but she looks shocked.

However, sources have told TMZ that the proposal wasn't legit and that Dog simply got caught up in the moment.

Insiders say he did not give Moon a ring.

They add that Dog said he had been talking to God during a bathroom break and that it was God who told him he should pop the question.

The video was posted to the Dr Oz Twitter page alongside the caption: "A marriage proposal? After weeks of family turmoil, @DogBountyHunter and Moon Angell join me to set the record straight."

Dog's wife Beth died in June after battling throat and lung cancer for two years.

There have been reports of lots of bickering within the family and Moon acknowledges the rift in the clip, saying: "I have lots of enemies right now."

The clip also sees Dr Oz quiz Dog about how he's been coping since Beth's death, asking him: "You were going to commit suicide?"

Dog tells him: "I am a lot happier when she's around."
