Dog stolen from Scots garden and thrown out of van as cops launch probe

Police are appealing for information after a dog was stolen from a Scots garden and thrown out of a green van.

Around 5.30pm on Friday a dog was found on Edinburgh Road, Dumfries and it is thought the dog was stolen from a nearby garden.

The pooch was returned to its owner but it is believed that two female witnesses may have seen the dog being thrown from a small green van.

Officers are interested in speaking with a female who was driving a black three door Vauxhall Astra as she may have witnessed the event.

Anyone who has dashcam footage of the incident or observed the dog or the green van on Edinburgh road is being urged to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 3177 of 16th April.
