Dog stolen from hammock on Loch Lomond island 'by men who fled on speedboat'

A desperate dog owner has launched an appeal for help to locate her missing pooch - who she says is "100 per cent certain" was stolen from an island in Loch Lomond.

Frances Curley, from Troon, South Ayrshire was camping on Inchconnachan Island in Loch Lomond near Luss on Sunda, June 19, when Skye, a two-and-a-half-year old border terrier, went missing.

The missing dog appeal posted on Facebook noted that Skye was with Frances at the campsite on the uninhabited island, which is home to a colony of wallabies, in a hammock.

While preparing dinner nearby, she looked in the hammock and saw that Skye wasn’t there anymore.

During the initial search for Skye, two paddle-boarders said they had witnessed two men take a little brown dog into a speedboat and leave the island. The island was searched again for Skye, with no luck.

Frances has appealed for the two men to get in contact with her so they can be ruled out of the search for the partially-sighted pooch, the Facebook post notes.

She is also looking to speak to anyone who was on Inchconnachan Island or around Loch Lomond on Sunday who may have witnessed someone with Skye - who was wearing a pink and white striped collar with two tags, one which read “Fur ever yours”.

And she is keen to speak to anyone who was on the island or around Loch Lomond on Sunday who may have witnessed someone with Skye.

Glasgow Live have contacted Police Scotland for comment.
