Dog seized after alleged attack leaves kids injured and Yorkshire terrier dead

A dog has been seized by police after two young children were hurt during an alleged attack at a West Lothian park.
The Daily Record has reported that a miniature Yorkshire Terrier also died as a result of the alleged incident, which took place near Blackburnhall Gardens, Blackburn, on Wednesday evening.

Police have confirmed that two youngsters, aged three and 10, suffered minor injuries while a male teenager has been arrested in connection with the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers were called to a report of a dog attack in a park near Blackburnhall Gardens, Bathgate around 6.20pm on Wednesday, January 5, 2022.

“Two children aged 10 and three suffered minor injuries, and a mini Yorkshire Terrier died during the incident.
“A 16-year-old male was arrested in connection with the incident, and a dog has been seized under the Dangerous Dogs Act. Enquiries are continuing.”
