Dog runs away from owner to sneak into Pets at Home store because he loves the guinea pigs

A dog has gone viral after escaping from it's owner to visit some guinea pigs.

The animal burst into Pets at Home in Bishopbriggs in a desperate attempt to spot some of the little furry creatures.

The owner of the pet, believed to be a German Shepard, quickly came in after it explaining how he loved to watch guinea pigs.

"The owner was behind me in the queue and I went to let her in before me because the dog was there and she just said “no it’s okay she’s just looking at the guinea pigs.

"She loves them she always does it when we’re here”

After posting the exchange on Facebook thousands of social media users gushed over the funny incident.

Raking in more than 7,000 likes and 8,000 shares the post quickly went viral with Scots flooding the comment section.
