A dog was rescued and returned home despite staying for weeks in dangerously cold temperatures and blizzards, in a story of survival against all odds.
Marlee, the beloved pet dog of Lizbeth Berzinski, has been reunited with her family after a harrowing three weeks outside during a brutal snowstorm in Big Bear, a small city in Southern California, US.
It all started when Marlee was in the backseat of a car with Lizbeth when disaster struck.
The vehicle hit a patch of black ice and crashed, causing Marlee to jump out of the back window and run off.
Lizbeth chased after her, but the dog was too fast.
From that moment on, Lizbeth and her family launched an all-out search for Marlee.

They put up flyers all around Big Bear and posted photos on community Facebook pages, KCAL News reported.
But with each passing day, their hopes of finding Marlee alive were fading fast.
That's when a miracle happened. Someone spotted Marlee on their Ring surveillance camera outside their home and posted a picture of the dog to social media.
The video showed Marlee coming to the home every evening to eat food left outside.
Despite the freezing temperatures and heavy snowfall, Marlee had managed to survive on her own for three long weeks.
The family knew they had to act fast to rescue her, so they followed the dog's footprints in the snow until they finally found her.
But catching Marlee wasn't easy. She was skittish and wary of humans after her ordeal, and the family had to use all their wits to lure her in with some extra food.

But their patience and persistence paid off, and they were finally able to capture Marlee and bring her back home.
Now, Marlee is back safe and sound with her family, who are overjoyed to have her back in their lives.
Lizbeth said that she and Marlee have been inseparable since she was just a puppy, and she was heartbroken when the dog ran off after the car crash.
But thanks to the power of social media and the determination of her family, Marlee has been reunited with her loved ones.
