Dog rescued after being abandoned in freezing rain in behind Dublin car dealership

A terrified dog was rescued after being left for dead in the freezing rain behind a north Dublin car dealership.

Poor Emma was dumped through a broken fencing in an area to the rear of Joe Duffy Motors in Finglas last night.

The shivering pooch was rescued after staff at the dealership spotted her and called My Lovely Horse Rescue.

Volunteer Deborah said: “There is a fenced in area behind the dealership with a load of water. We were worried that the dog was going to go in the water.”

She revealed that the staff at the dealership had reportedly seen Emma being chased by two men up the N7.

Deborah said: “We got a call from the dealership and they said they had seen two guys a week ago chasing [Emma] up the N2. We have asked them to see if they have any more footage on their CCTV.

“Fair play to the Joe Duffy crew. They all waited there and made sure she didn’t go outside the fence.”

Emma, who is named after one of the dealership crew who helped rescue her, is now being looked after at the rescue’s farm.

Deborah added: “She is doing really well. She had a great night’s sleep and she snored like a train!”

Gardai have been informed of the incident.
