Dog rescued after 60 miles on the run has escaped foster care

A local dog charity is appealing for help to find and rescue a hound-cross who was last seen running on a busy main road in Derry.

Miles, who Belfast Live previously reported strayed 60 miles over seven days before being hit by a car, has escaped again - this time from his foster home in the North West.

Last month, the dog's escape saw him travel through eight towns, Dundrod, Lisburn, Hillsborough, Dromara, Ballynahinch, Saintfield, and Carryduff before finally being stopped in Comber.

Dog lovers are now being asked again to to keep an eye out for the pooch.

Volunteers from Friends of Rescue are asking anyone who has a drone in the area to contact them.

A plea on Facebook read: "Our Miles has escaped from his foster home... in the chapel road/Spencer road area of Derry.

"He is a runner, although friendly. His natural instinct is to run and took a long time to catch originally."

"If you have an hour please help us search, take your dog. He could be anywhere. Went out towards Prehen direction.

"Can anyone with a drone please contact us to help."
