Dog only responds to Northern Ireland accent for treats from owner's English boyfriend

An adorable Rottweiller pup has been teaching his owner's boyfriend how to communicate effectively by only responding to a Northern Ireland accent.

Young Paddy lives with Staffie sibling Nancy, in all the comforts of a loving home with mum Megan amongst all her books, plants and comfy spots.

The dogs star in many of her TikTok videos @megan.reads.a.lot, but her most recent shows Rottie Paddy training Megan's boyfriend the nuances of communication in Northern Ireland by refusing to respond to his English accent.

In one clip, he tells Paddy: "Sit down", but the big pup is having none of it until he hears the same command in a good strong, Northern Ireland accent.

The boyfriend tries again with the "Give me you paw", and again Paddy waits to be spoken to in the world's best accent - and of course he offers his paw for a shake and lots of treats.

The video has been well received on TikTok with massive support with more than 1,500 revealing their own experiences.
