Dog injured after being 'set upon' by three others in Lisburn

A dog has been injured after it was "set upon" by three others during an attack in Lisburn.

Police are appealing for information following the incident in the Ballinderry Gardens area of Lisburn on Saturday, January 9 at around 10.30pm.

It has been reported that a dog owner had his dog attacked and set upon by three greyhound type dogs.

Police say the dogs were not under the control of their owner and attacked the other dog on a grass area. Their owner then left the scene and provided no details for identification.

The dog that was attacked suffered injuries that are not believed to be life threatening.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "Police are appealing for information regarding a dog attack within the vicinity of Ballinderry Gardens Lisburn.

"On Saturday 9th January a dog owner has had his dog attacked and set upon by three greyhound type dogs in this area at approximately 10:30pm.

"These three dogs were not under the control of their owner and have proceeded to attack this dog on the grass area.

"The offending owner has left the scene and provided no details which would help identify him. The dog that was attacked has suffered injuries but is not in a life threatening condition.

"Should you know this male or have witnessed anything at this time please get in contact with police in Lisburn on 101 and quote serial 796 of 11th January."
