Dog-friendly Glasgow venues taking part in Eat Out to Help Out scheme

As Glasgow diners prepare to take advantage of the government's Eat Out to Help Out scheme, your dogs needn't feel left out, with a whole host of venues in our city set to welcome in you and your pet pooch.

Diners across the country will receive 50% off their meals throughout August, starting this coming Monday, in a bid to boost the hospitality sector.

Restaurants who sign up will automatically deduct it from your food bill (non-alcoholic drinks are also included) on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays only - so you don’t need a voucher with you to take part.

You can only get a maximum of £10 off per diner but there is no limit to how many times you can make use of the offer throughout August.

We've compiled a list of Glasgow venues getting involved, here, but to see every food and drink spot taking part near you, you can visit the UK Government website, here.

As part of their new Dog Difference Report, the team at dog food company tails.com have put together a list of the dog-friendly restaurants offering the discount across Glasgow.

Here are their recommendation for the top places to go with your dog in tow:

Atrium Coffee House

58 Cresswell Street, City of Glasgow, G12 8BY

This independent coffee house serves fair-trade coffee, teas and sweet treats along with lots of options for lunch.

Even better, the coffee house is dog-friendly so you can enjoy a coffee and some treats alongside your hungry pooch.

S'mug coffee Bar

167 Great George Street, City of Glasgow, G12 8AQ

This coffee spot offers a warm and friendly welcome with good food and sweet treats. And best of all your furry friend can tag along for a spot of lunch after a long walk in a west end park.

Brel

37 Ashton Lane, City of Glasgow, G12 8SJ

(Tails.com)

Cosy up and enjoy indoor dining in their conservatory and Mezz, or go al fresco in the famous brel garden and outdoor heated restaurant, new covered seating and fire pits for warmth and s’more making goodness! Dogs are always given a warm welcome here, with a fresh bowl of water readily available on arrival.

Bar Soba

116-122, Byres Rd, G12 8TB

(Tails.com)

Bar Soba offers classic cocktails with a creative twist and street food inspired by the night markets of South-East Asia. Meanwhile you can also enjoy the cutting-edge music from the best local and international DJs with your pooch by your side. Dogs are however only permitted in the bar area.

Hotel du Vin & Bistro Glasgow

(Tails.com)

1 Devonshire Gardens, City of Glasgow, G12 0UX

This stunning and iconic Glasgow hotel is set in a tree-lined Victorian terrace and offers enviable service and style.

Here, you can enjoy the signature bistro, a relaxing bar, an intriguing cigar shack and a well-stocked and comfortable whisky room.

If all of this wasn’t enough the hotel offers the added bonus of being dog-friendly. Dogs can join you for meals in the drawing room or the garden (in good weather). The bedrooms are even dog-friendly so you can bring your pet with you if you fancy a weekend staycation.

Jelly Hill Cafe Bar

195 Hyndland Road, City of Glasgow, G12 9HT

Jellyhill Café Bar serves barista-made coffees, pastries, hand-prepared sandwiches, artisan cheeses, top-class charcuterie, wines, beers and cocktails.

The cosy atmosphere and eclectic décor coupled with the friendliest of greetings ensure that a visit to Jellyhill is an enjoyable and memorable experience.

Even better they are also dog-friendly so you can relax and enjoy a coffee and lunch with your furry friend for less throughout August.

Innis and Gunn Brewery Taproom

44-46, Ashton Lane, City of Glasgow, G12 8SJ

(Tails.com)

Innis & Gunn Brewery Taproom offers one of the most extensive craft beer selections in Glasgow, a varied and rotational range featuring 23 craft taps, plus fresh and seasonal dishes to choose from.

Dogs and humans are greeted with a warm welcome, tummy rubs (dogs only I’m afraid) and fresh water. There is also indoor and outdoor seating available.

1051 GWR

1051 Great Western Road, City of Glasgow, G12 0XP

Located on Great Western Road, 1051 GWR is a bar and grill focused on serving great homemade food, a whole host of craft beers and real ales.

The place is welcome spot for dogs so you don’t have to worry about leaving your best pal at home for the night.

Papercup Coffee Company

(Tails.com)

603 Great Western Road, City of Glasgow, G12 8HX

Born and bred in Glasgow's west end from an idea about good food and coffee all under one roof with no fuss and no compromise, this coffee house tries to source ethically and environmentally sound beans, products and produce.

Make sure to bring your furry friend along as the cafe welcomes dogs with warm smiles and open arms.
