Dog found dead after man and woman attacked in garden

A dog was found dead after a man and woman were attacked by their own pet in a garden last night.

Emergency services were called to Carlton Street, in Prescot, at about 6.40pm on Monday, October 26, following reports of a dog attack.

Once there officers found a dead dog, but the breed has not been confirmed at this stage.

The force said an investigation has been launched to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident, but officers said a man and a woman were found injured at the property after their dog reportedly attacked them in a garden.

Their injuries are understood to be minor.

A spokesman for Merseyside Police said: "We can confirm that emergency services were in Prescot last night, Monday 26 October, following a dog attack.

"At around 6.40pm, officers and the ambulance service were called to Carlton Street to the report of a man and a woman having been injured by their dog in a garden.
