A plan to open an Ayrshire dog exercise yard has hit the skids after an agent hit out at council planners.
Based at Greenmill Holdings in Knockentiber, the 2,000 sq m site would have four car park spaces and would be in operation from 7.30am to 6.30pm, Monday to Friday.
It was mooted by environmental health officials that a temporary one-year consent be granted for the land that sits directly behind Crosshouse Hospital, subject to a variety of conditions.
But the agent acting on behalf of the applicant branded the one-year consent as "unfair".
A response from Ayrshire Roads Alliance was also described as "heavy-handed" with the agent claiming that the body's submission "does not sufficiently recognise existing road conditions."
However, East Ayrshire Council planners concluded that the blueprints failed to "accord with the adopted East Ayrshire Local Development Plan (2017) and the material considerations, on balance, do not support granting planning permission for this proposal, with significant weight given to the consultation response from Environmental Health, the Ayrshire Roads Alliance and the objection received in particular."
