Dog creates his first Christmas painting with just a little help

Thousand of people have responded to a social media post about a Christmas painting created by a dog.

Jo Harter helped her big Basset Hound Thor with the art piece and posted photos of the finished and framed picture on Facebook.

She dipped his substantial paw s in washable paint and padded them onto paper to create the shape of a Christmas tree using Crayola washable paints.

Jo helped him with finessing the star and baubles and even wrote his name and dated the painting.

And if she had been expecting a few responses to her fun project, she got more than she bargained for as Thor's handiwork attracted more than 2,700 responses with most people determined to try out their dog's artistry.

Jo said: "It's Thor's first Christmas tree painting and I will cherish it."

And when asked how she got her pet to tolerate her working with his feet, she said: "Thor was a perfect gentleman."

Jo ensured her Basset posed with his artwork to allow his mum to show off his talents to the delight of thousands of dog families and little doubt his efforts will inspire many more Christmas dog painting attempts this season.
