A teenager was found cowering in someone's back garden by a dog after a police chase last night.
Officers in a police patrol car out in Dovecot set off their lights and siren last night to try and beckon the driver of a Vauxhall Mokka to stop.
But the driver of the car on Kingsheath Avenue ignored the police and made off around 10.20pm.
However other patrols began following the car through the area in a short police chase which ended on Old Riding, Dovecot .
The three people in the car - all believed to be male - fled from the vehicle, which is suspected to have been stolen from Norris Green and fitted with false plates.
However a teenager, believed to be the driver of the car, was discovered by a police dog hiding in the rear garden of a house in nearby Haydn Road.
A spokesman said the 15-year-old was arrested on suspicion of burglary, possession of a bladed article, possession of a controlled Class B drug, drug driving, dangerous driving and failing to stop.
He is currently in custody where he will be questioned by officers.
Knowsley Community Policing Chief Inspector Phil Mullally said: “Officers were in the Knowsley area last night as part of Operation Castle which is our forcewide campaign to combat burglaries.
“We have had considerable success in our campaign thanks to the vigilance of our officers and the vital information which receive from members of the public. "
