A dog is seen hanging in the air by its lead in shocking footage after a woman went into a lift and closed the doors with the animal still outside.
The stricken dog was yanked off its feet by the lead attached to its neck and was left dangling from the top of the elevator door.
CCTV footage captures the moment the woman walks into a block of flats in Moscow and seems to forget the dog behind her.
She pressed the button for the 16th floor and her pet was left behind.
It was thrust upwards and pressed against the elevator door before being left dangling.

The animal, believed to be a shih tzu, was saved thanks to the quick actions of another person who saw the dog strung up.
Fortunately, straight after the dog was caught in the lift, a man came to the rescue.
He was able to unclip the dog and held the petrified animal that appeared to be shaking.
Shortly afterwards the woman appeared back down on the ground floor looking for her pet.

After the video was shared on social media, the pet owner was widely criticised for not taking better care of the dog.
"Why not check that the dog is still with you?" wrote one person.
Another said: "Poor dog, imagine how terrifying it must have been.
"She doesn't deserve the dog after what happened."

One said how shocked they were by the footage: "My heart stopped when I saw the video."
While many others also asked how she went up 16 floors "before noticing the dog wasn't with her".
The incident was in the River Park residential zone of Nagatinsky Zaton district in Moscow.
