RAIPUR: After being denied permission by the Uttar Pradesh government to land in Lucknow, Chhattisgarh chief minister Bhupesh Baghel on Monday slammed the Yogi Adityanath government asking whether one would require a visa to visit that state.
“I am being prevented from visiting Uttar Pradesh. Punjab deputy chief minister has also been denied permission to land in Lucknow. Whether rights of citizens were suspended in Uttar Pradesh, he asked in a video message released before leaving for Delhi.
Baghel, who has been recently appointed by the AICC as senior observer for Uttar Pradesh elections, is likely to proceed to Lakhimpur Kheri where farmers were killed after a vehicle rammed into them and later infuriated farmers set ablaze three vehicles.
Asking why the BJP government was scared of the opposition parties, the chief minister said if their supporters were not involved in the Lakhimpur Kheri incident, they shouldn't have prevented the opposition parties from visiting the families of the victims.
Baghel added that the brutal manner in which the farmers were killed indicates the mindset of BJP.
He strongly condemned the manner in which AICC general secretary Priyanka Gandhi was prevented from visiting Lakhimpur Kheri and misbehaved.
