We know Waitrose has closed their two city centre stores .
But you'd think someone at the posh supermarket would remember where Manchester actually is.
Customers have been mocking Waitrose after it published a map of the UK's gin distilleries map which put Manchester just east of the Lake District, somewhere near Penrith.
By our reckoning that's almost 100 miles away.
The blooper came in May's issue of the Waitrose Weekend newspaper which ran a special double page feature on some of the UK's best gin-makers.
Manchester Three Rivers Gin was among the distilleries featured.
But it's based in Red Bank, a stone's throw away from Victoria Station - not on the edge of Cumbria.
And just to compound the error the magazine describes Three Rivers Gin as 'proudly Mancunian' and explains how it was named after Manchester's three main waterways which 'brought commerce and industry to this northern city'.
Customers were quick to spot the error.
Victoria Carr tweeted: "Is Manchester Gin produced somewhere east of the Lake District, or does no one care where anything is actually located ‘oop north’???"
Anne Carney tweeted: "Has Manchester moved north of the River Ribble?"
And @Petty269 tweeted: "How about knowing where Manchester is before printing a UK gin map? Are you all really so London focussed? (This week's gin special in your paper)."
A Waitrose spokesperson said: "This was a design error. We apologise to anyone that was offended."
