Yes, BakkesMod still works in Rocket League, but only when Easy Anti-Cheat is disabled, which means that it’s no longer available for online play. With Rocket League’s EAC update going live, PC players now have to choose: queue online with EAC on, or launch without EAC and keep BakkesMod for offline training, custom content, and LAN matches.
What is BakkesMod and Why do Rocket League players use it?
BakkesMod is a third-party modding and training toolkit for Rocket League on PC. It injects into the game and adds features well beyond what the base game offers. Its plugin ecosystem covers custom training drills, hitbox visualizers, stadium color customization, advanced camera controls, and broadcast overlay tools.
For competitive players, BakkesMod became part of the standard PC toolkit. Features like visible MMR, dynamic Custom Training tools, and Free Play tweaks were available through BakkesMod years before Psyonix built them natively into the game. In fact, most coaching resources and training guides for PC players assume it is already installed.

Can You Still Use BakkesMod After the Easy Anti-Cheat Update?
The short answer is year, but with a massive caveat. EAC is now required for all online play in Rocket League on PC including ranked, casual, private matches, and in-game tournaments. When EAC is active, BakkesMod and all third-party mods are blocked. That means for your online sessions, BakkesMod is no longer an option.
To allow players to still use mods for offline play, Psyonix has added an option to launch the game with EAC disabled. Launching with EAC off blocks online play, but restores full mod support, including BakkesMod. So for training, video production, and other workflows that BakkesMod has always been central to, players can utilise that avenue.
Which BakkesMod features are now built into Rocket League?
Psyonix has added several popular BakkesMod features directly into the base game as part of the EAC update. These features are now available natively without any mods:
- Native MMR Display: view your Matchmaking Rating in-game without a third-party tool
- Custom Training Randomization: shuffle training pack shots for more dynamic practice
- Free Player Team Colors: customize team colors in Free Play without a plugin
Psyonix officially credited Bakkes and the BakkesMod volunteer developer community for pioneering these features. The update effectively makes years of community-driven improvements official and EAC-compatible for all players.
What still requires BakkesMod?
BakkesMod’s deeper plugin ecosystem goes beyond anything now in the base game. Advanced training plugins, granular shot scripting, and specific mechanical drill tools still require BakkesMod. Stadium and camera customization plugins, such as ad board replacements and HUD modifications, are also not covered natively.
Steam Workshop maps work with or without EAC. However, BakkesMod plugins layered on top of Workshop content still require EAC to be turned off. Replay tools, including advanced free camera controls and replay editing workflows, continue to work with EAC disabled.
Essentially, players who used BakkesMod for Quality of Life (QoL) features like MMR visibility will find the base game now covers those needs. But everyone else will need to turn EAC off to use BakkesMod in their workflows.

How to use BakkesMod after EAC update
To use BakkesMod after the EAC update, you have to first launch the game with Easy Anti-Cheat disabled, by following these steps:
- Open Epic Games Launcher
- Head to your Library
- Right click on Rocket League
- Select “Launch without Anti-Cheat”
The game will give you a warning about Easy Anti-Cheat being disabled, but it can safely be dismissed by clicking on “No”. Once launched this way, BakkesMod will inject as normal, and allow you to use all the relevant features.
