Do you get an Anzac Day public holiday this Monday? Here's a state-by-state breakdown

The Monday after Anzac Day is a public holiday for some states. (ABC News: Jordan Hayne)

Australians will pause to reflect this Anzac Day on the 106th anniversary of the landing at Gallipoli.

But as the solemn occasion falls on a weekend this year, not all states and territories are making Monday, April 26 a public holiday.

Read on for a breakdown of where is (and isn't) getting a day off next week, or jump to your state or territory here:

New South Wales

NSW will not mark a separate Anzac Day public holiday. (AAP: Dan Himbrechts)

No.

While NSW lists Anzac Day as a public holiday, it doesn't offer a supplementary public holiday when it falls on a weekend.

That means there won't be an Anzac Day long weekend until 2022, when Anzac Day falls on a Monday.

Victoria

No.

Like NSW, Victoria only gives its citizens an extra day off if April 25 falls on a weekday.

Queensland

Queensland will mark Anzac Day with a Monday public holiday. (AAP: Dan Peled)

Yes.

Queenslanders will get the day off on April 26 because Anzac Day falls on the Sunday.

Queensland law only allows for this when the 25th falls on a Sunday, and not when it's a Saturday.

Western Australia

Yes.

According to the WA government, "when New Year's Day, Anzac Day, or Christmas Day falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the next following Monday is also a public holiday."

South Australia

Yes.

South Australia's public holiday laws say that when Anzac Day falls on a Sunday, the following Monday will be a public holiday, but no such rule exists for when the 25th falls on Saturday.

Australian Capital Territory

Commemorations will take place on Sunday, but the ACT will have a public holiday on Monday. (ABC News: Jordan Hayne)

Yes.

The ACT also gave residents a public holiday last year when Anzac Day fell on a Saturday.

Tasmania

No.

Tasmania only offers supplementary public holidays for Christmas, New Year's Day, Boxing Day and Australia Day, so Monday won't be a public holiday.

Northern Territory

Yes.

Like South Australia and Queensland, the NT allocates a Monday public holiday when Anzac Day falls on a Sunday but not on a Saturday.
