Rangers will make offers to both Danilho Doekhi and John Souttar in January, according to a report.
Ibrox boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst is keen on securing defensive reinforcements with Connor Goldson yet to agree a new contract.
Goldson is free to negotiate a pre-contract elsewhere as he enters the final six months of his deal.
But so are Hearts star Souttar and Vitesse Arnhem captain Doekhi.
The Scottish Sun report Rangers are set to approach the pair in the coming weeks and could submit a January bid to the Jambos for Souttar if they can agree a pre-contract.
Record Sport revealed in December that Blackburn Rovers are also ready to move for the Scotland international.
Doekhi, meanwhile, has suggested he's open to a move to Ibrox, describing interest from the Premiership champions as "beautiful".
"I am the type of defender, for which there is less attention in the Netherlands," he told gelderlander.nl.
"The Dutch are into attacking football. Yoga Bonito. It doesn't bother me. My style now brings me here.
"Of course I get the stories of Napoli and Rangers. I am flattered. Scotland is passion. In Italy you really learn how to defend yourself.
"Both are very beautiful.”
Doekhi previously that his preference would be to make his next move during the summer, but has nnow confessed he would take the right opportunity if it emerged in January.
He added: “That's just how football works. A winter transfer is not ideal. You get in somewhere halfway. But if an opportunity comes up, I shouldn't let it go..
Rangers are also considering Hearts star John Souttar as an option should they not tie Goldson down to a new contract.
The 29-year-old's Ibrox deal expires at the end of May, with the Premiership champions launching a fresh push to agree terms last week.
