Rapper Doechii has clapped back at claims that she mistreated her staff at the 2025 Met Gala after a clip of her seemingly berating her team went viral.
In the clip, Doechii is standing within a makeshift box to hide her Met Gala look. She’s heard saying “give me another umbrella, now” as her team scrambles to find them to protect the “Boiled Peanuts” artist from the pouring rain as she heads to the blue orchid-covered carpet.
You can check out the moment below.

The vibes seemed pretty damn tense and folks had a lot to say about the tone the Grammy-winner took with her employees. After a lot of online rhetoric, Doechii decided to weigh in.
Taking to social media, the Swamp Princess made light of the outcry.
“God forbid a girl needs more umbrellas,” she wrote, over a video of her backing away from the camera with Lionel Richie‘s “Easy” playing over the top.
In the caption, she wrote: “All jokes aside, this was such an overstimulating night but I wouldn’t trade it for the world! This was the night we all dreamed of and my team killed it (umbrellas aside) 😭🥴.”
On Instagram, Doechii added an extra message.
“All jokes aside, I’m so, so, so proud of my glam team and the LV team for an incredible night,” she wrote.
“We’ve been dreaming about this Met for a long time and the theme this year is in such alignment with who I am, what I stand for. It’s nothing but God that this year was our debut. Everyone killed it. We named the theme and a time was had.”

Despite Doechii’s statement, folks online have mixed thoughts about her antics.
The fact that Doechii did all that for this basic ass look😬🤦🏾♀️. I’m sorry, but the way a celeb treats their team tells me everything I need to know about them. Doechii done let that little fame she got go to her head and it’s sad to see. https://t.co/pRizfmq45S pic.twitter.com/xk1tygT73t

Truthfully, I can completely understand that this would be an incredibly overstimulating event. While I don’t condone speaking to staff like that, we really don’t know what was going on behind the scenes.
Either way, I think it’s great Doechii stepped up to the plate to acknowledge the drama head-on. The don, the dean, the supreme, for real.
