Dodgy weed warning issued over 'contaminated cannabis circulating' in Dublin

A local councillor has issued a dodgy weed warning over "contaminated cannabis circulating" in Dublin and Kildare.

Social Democrats' Newbridge Councillor Chris Pender issued the warning after reports of an unusual white hair-like substance was spotted in some batches circulating around Kildare and Dublin.

The weed in question has a perfumey smell and produces a "panicky type of high".

Cllr Pender warned people to stay safe and stay healthy and always double check before consuming anything.

He wrote: "There's contaminated cannabis circulating in both Kildare and Dublin at present.

"It smells a little off, kind of like perfume and when examined under a magnifying glass it shows a white hair like substance and white blobs, rather than the usual trichomes.

"The little white hairs are present on the stems just as much as they are on the plant matter, which suggests that it's been sprayed or dipped in something.

"If smoked it's said to produce an unpleasant panicky type of high and is extremely potent.

"Please note that it's not totally obvious, in fact under the naked eye it looks absolutely fine.

"I would encourage others to closely examine what they purchase and please do not consume it if you are unlucky enough to pick some up. Stay safe, stay healthy!"
