Doctors Without Borders opens free surgery for war victims in Jordan

Doctors Without Borders opens free surgery for war victims in Jordan ()

Doctors Without Borders have opened a reconstructive surgery in Jordan to treat the great number of war victims in the Middle East.

Watch footage from inside the hospital here.

The aid group have gathered surgeons, counsellors and physiotherapists who specialise in treating victims of war.

They will all offer free treatment to the many civilians who have been wounded in civil or international conflicts across the Middle East.

Huda Abed is one of those who have benefitted from the surgery. She received serious facial injuries after being hit by a mortar shell and was told in Iraq that no doctor could treat her.

Upon arriving at the centre in Amman, Huda has had bone from her Pelvis removed in order to reconstruct her jaw. She is currently awaiting bone transplants to give her a new nose and new teeth.
