A doctors' surgery has issued a plea for people to stop phoning them asking when they will be getting their second coronavirus vaccine.
St Brides Medical Centre in Duffryn, Newport has asked people to "please stop phoning the surgery" to enquire about when they will get their second vaccine doses.
The surgery said on social media this week that people who are unwell were having difficulty contacting them due to the number of people phoning about their second jab.
"This is an appeal to ask people to stop phoning us to enquire about their second Covid vaccination doses," it said.
"We advised everyone when they have received their first doses from us that we will call for second doses and we will. We have meticulous spreadsheets and will do second doses in order.
"We have been given guidance that Oxford AstraZeneca second doses will be given at least 12 weeks after the first dose."
The surgery added that its numbers depended on the stock of vaccine it receives, which it said it often only finds out a week in advance.
"This is out of our control," it added.
"Please be patient. Please stop phoning the surgery. It is stopping people getting through who are unwell.
"Please reassure your worried relatives."
1,180,155 people have now received a first dose of the coronavirus vaccine in Wales and a further 304,411 have had both jabs.
The UK Government confirmed on Wednesday that some of the supply it had expected to arrive in the UK before mid-April will now be delivered up to four weeks later than originally planned.
However Health Minister Vaughan Gething has assured that the delay should not impact on the Welsh Government's commitment to offer a first dose to the first nine priority groups by the middle of April and all other eligible adults by the end of July.
