A mum has told of her nightmare after doctors fought for hours to save her baby boy who is seriously ill with Covid.
Seven-month-old Kaylen Watson was blue-lighted to the resuscitation ward at Hull Royal Infirmary where doctors worked tirelessly attempting to stabilise his condition, Hull Live reports.
He was initially taken to hospital on Saturday morning where medics diagnosed him with childhood respiratory infection bronchiolitis before sending him home.
But later that evening, mum Keran Watson said he turned blue, at which point she called emergency services and he was rushed to hospital by ambulance.
He became unconscious just minutes after arriving in A&E and was transferred to 'Resus' where doctors spent four hours working on him as he struggled to breathe.
He has now been diagnosed as Covid positive, and was admitted to the children's ward where his oxygen levels have been continually monitored.
Mum Keran, 33, who said three of her six children are currently Covid positive, as well as herself and husband Kyle, 34, said she was "beside herself" and was shocked her son could be so poorly from Covid.

She said: "They didn't know if its was bronchiolitis or a severe chest infection at first, but doctors think it's just Covid that is making him so poorly, I was surprised that babies could be so ill with it. He nearly died when he was four weeks old from bronchiolitis, and I thought it was going the same way again.
"It was terrifying seeing him in resus.
"I have friends with babies with heart conditions who have had Covid and were never in hospital with it. This has really shocked me. The doctor has said he is a very, very lucky boy."

The couple, from east Hull, have five other children, Kaydee 11, Kayden, nine, Kaycee, five, Kaylee, three, and two-year-old Kaytee.
They both have the virus, while two of the other children are also positive, but fortunately the other children are well.
Keran said she is hoping they will be allowed to bring their baby home soon, but doctors were monitoring his oxygen levels as they were dropping every time he fell asleep.
She added: "It is really scary, we had no idea how ill a baby could get with Covid. We caught it from a family friend, but it's one of those things, you can't really avoid it.
"He has been on a machine helping him with oxygen, and hopefully he is improving now, we are waiting to see if we continue his isolation at home."
She said she'd also felt very poorly, despite being double-jabbed, adding: "It is like very bad flu. It's been really hard, I haven't left his side and I am staying here 24/7, we can't wait to get him better and home."
