ORLANDO, Fla. _ Doctors called UCF quarterback McKenzie Milton's fourth surgery a success, according to a video posted on his mother's Instagram account.
Teresa Milton posted a video featuring the medical staff from Jewitt Jewett Orthopaedic Friday morning. She asked two medical staff members how his surgery went Thursday.
"Everything went perfect," one doctor said in the video, while another chimed in, "perfect."
The first continued while addressing Milton's mother, "No problems. Full range of motion. Your boy looked amazing. ... One step at a time."
The medical team closed by saying "10hana," a mix of Milton's No. 10 jersey and "ohana," the Hawaiian word for family.
Milton suffered a catastrophic leg injury during the UCF regular-season finale at USF on Black Friday. He had emergency surgery at Tampa General Hospital to restore blood flow and two more surgeries as doctors worked to restore vascular flow in his leg.
He was released and had another surgery Thursday to make him more comfortable and allow him to travel to Arizona for UCF's game against LSU in the Fiesta Bowl.
The quarterback will need at least one more surgery to repair his dislocated knee, but his mother has shared that his blood flow continues to improve after the nerve damage he suffered during the win over USF.
She has repeatedly thanked UCF fans and medical staff for their support, saying all the prayers and positive energy directed at her son is working.
