Doctor Who star Jodie Whittaker returns with brilliant coronavirus message to blow away your lockdown anxiety

Doctor Who fans were overjoyed to see Jodie Whittaker back in character as the Doctor gave advice to those in self-isolation due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Posting from Doctor Who Twitter account, the 13th Doctor delivered an aspiring message to help fans through tough times and gave tips on how to survive self-isolation and self-distancing.

She also told fans of the BBC1 show filmed in Wales she would be seeing them very soon.

In full costume and seeming to be filming the exchange herself on a phone, Jodie said: "I’m actually just self-isolating – or as I like to call it, hiding, from an army of Sontarans. But keep that to yourself."

Running down her top tips, Jodie added: "One, remember, you will get through this and things will be alright, even if they look uncertain. Even if you’re worried, darkness never prevails.

“Two, tell jokes, even bad ones. Especially bad ones. I am brilliant at bad ones!

“Three. Be kind. Even kinder than you were yesterday. And I know you were super kind yesterday!

“Talking will help, sharing will help. Look out for your friends, your neighbours, people you hardly know. And family. Because in the end we’re all family.

“Four – listen to science. And listen to Doctors. Right? They’ve got your back.

“Five – stay strong, stay positive. You’ve got this. And I will see you very soon.”

The 12th series of Doctor Who finished at the beginning of this month and announcement of when the next series will be taking place has yet to be announced.
