Doctor who refused to vaccinate patients suspended by Medical Council

A doctor who refused to vaccinate his patients has been suspended by the Medical Council, it was revealed yesterday.

Dr Gerard Waters, who was at the Whitehorn Clinic in Celbridge, Co Kildare, also would not refer his patients to another practice that would give the vaccine.

Last month he told RTE he disagreed with how quickly the vaccines had been developed and how it had been handled by authorities.

Claiming he was a “conscientious objector” he went on to say he would have no issue if his patients went on to receive the vaccine from somewhere else, but he would not put anything in his patient’s arms that he would not put in his own.
