Doctor Who fans mock Netflix over strange synopsis of the show

Netflix has been mocked for their description of Doctor Who.

The streaming service offers quite the summation for the BBC's flagship science fiction show, making the Time Lord sound more like an intergalactic "tourguide" rather than Earth's protector.

The description reads: "Evil aliens. A wacky but brilliant tourguide. Flying through space in a tiny blue box is the trip of a lifetime."

As reported by Digital Spy, one Twitter noted: "Netflix has honest to god the worst ever Doctor Who synopsis."

Other social media users were quick to comment on the synopsis.

There are currently 10 series of Doctor Who available on Netflix, not including the latest series featuring Jodie Whittaker as the iconic character.

Following the New Year’s Day special earlier this year, Whittaker – along with her trio of companions, played by Bradley Walsh, Mandip Gil and Tosin Cole – will reprise their roles on BBC One in 2020.

Doctor Who boss and head writer Chris Chibnall, who took over from Steven Moffat for season 11, has already begun on the 12th series.

“We’re off again! Well we never actually stopped,” Chibnall said. “As Jodie Whittaker’s Doctor and friends have been winning the hearts of families across the nation this autumn, we’ve been busy with a whole new set of action packed adventures for the 13th Doctor.
