Doctor Who fans charged eye-watering £220 for meet and greet with Jodie Whittaker

Good Lord – time is big money when you meet Doctor Who.

A meet and greet with the first woman to play the Doctor, which includes a photo, autograph and dog tag, costs fans £220.

The price to chat to Jodie Whittaker, 39, comes on top of the £18 entry fee at London’s Comic Con convention next month.

A source said: “It might seem steep but Doctor Who fans are the most committed around so there will be no shortage of takers.”

Jodie announced last year she was leaving the iconic role in the BBC sci-fi series, helmed by Chris Chibnall.

So far 13 actors have played the Doctor, with Jodie first appearing in 2017.

There is no suggestion the actress or organisers are breaching BBC rules since they are not plugging a commercial product.

Her Doctor Who predecessors David Tennant, 50, and Matt Smith, 39, have attended Comic Con events.

And Sylvester McCoy, 78, in the Tardis from 1987 to 1989, is due at a convention in LA next month.
