Doctor's surgery in Didsbury closed to non-urgent patients after positive coronavirus test

Didsbury Medical Centre has been forced to close to non-urgent patients after a person tested positive for coronavirus.

The surgery on Wilmslow Road informed patients that all routine issues would be put on hold after a "non-clinical" member of the team received the result.

A number of doctors and staff at the medical centre are said to be isolating at home.

The surgery said they would be operating an "urgent only" appointment system for foreseeable future.

They assured that the building has undergone a deep clean on Saturday, and is able to receive patients for urgent appointments only.

In a text issued to patients, management said: "A non-clinical member of the Didsbury Medical Centre Team has received a positive Coronavirus test result and therefore a large number of our doctors and staff are isolating at home.

"Didsbury Medical Centre is now operating an urgent only appointment/query system and all routine issues are now on hold.

"The building has received a deep clean this weekend (August 22) and is safe to receive patients if they have an urgent appointment.

"We appreciate your cooperation and understanding."
