Doctor on $1m bail hit with fresh sex assault charges

Dr Ahmed Al-Sudani has been charged with a third rape following his arrest at a medical centre. (HANDOUT/NSW POLICE)

A doctor accused of sexually assaulting two women has been charged with the rape of a third patient.

Ahmed Al-Sudani was arrested at a medical centre at Arncliffe, in Sydney's south, on Friday after police received reports of sexual assaults involving two patients.

Police on Wednesday said further investigations had revealed he allegedly raped another patient in June.

The 45-year-old doctor has been charged with two further offences of sexual intercourse without consent and sexual touching without consent.

He was already facing allegations he sexually touched a 28-year-old woman during a consultation on June 4 and raped a 19-year-old woman during a consultation on June 26.

Two interim apprehended violence orders have been taken out on behalf of the complainants.

Al-Sudani was granted bail in Sutherland Local Court on Friday after promising to pay $1 million if he breached any conditions.

He paid a $200,000 deposit to the court towards the sum.

The 45-year-old has been banned from acting as a medical practitioner and surrendered his passport to police.

However, his release from Sydney's Silverwater jail was put on hold until Wednesday while prosecutors decided whether to appeal the magistrate's bail decision.
