Doctor killed in Pattani shooting

Villagers crowd around the body of Doloh Hayeetaye, 59, a physician at the Tambon Thung Phla Health Promoting Hospital, in Khok Pho district, Pattani. He was shot dead by insurgents as he was on the way home on Thursday night.

A local physician was shot dead on his way home in Khok Pho district of Pattani on Thursday night.

The deceased was identified as Doloh Hayeetaye, 59, a doctor at the Tambon Thung Phla Health Promoting Hospital.

The murder in tambon Thung Phla was reported to Na Pradu police at around 7.50pm on Thursday.

Police said he was attacked by at least two men on a motorcycle after departing from a sawmill on his bike. He was killed about 100 metres from his home. 

He sustained gunshot wounds to his neck and head.

Police assumed insurgents were responsible.
