Doctor jokes his technician needs a raise after finding note they left about next patient

When working with other people, you often have to be very tactful about what you say, so as not to hurt their feelings.

But, at the end of the day, we're all human and sometimes we make mistakes.

One man, who works as a doctor, was recently saved from an epic blunder with a patient, as his technician left him a note to warn him about it in advance.

And it would have been a rather awkward appointment had they not done just that.

Ophthalmologist, Dr. Glaucomflecken, took to Twitter to share a look at the message that had been left for him and his post quickly went viral.

Written on a Post It note, it says: "She's his wife, not his daughter."

The word wife is underlined and in capital letters.

Alongside a photo of the message, the eye doctor wrote: "My technician leaves me notes about things I should know before I enter a patient’s room.

"I think my technician needs a raise."

The tweet garnered over 341,000 likes and more than 16,000 retweets.

A number of people also replied to the post, with one saying: "This note has a distinct, 'don’t make the same mistake I did,' feel to it."

Another wrote: "Went with my uncle to a clinic, I was 20, he was 50+.

"I got weird looks from the nurses so I offhand said he was my uncle so she laughed and said she thought he was my sugar daddy?????????????????"

Someone else replied: "My late husband was 17yrs older than me. We used to have great fun watching people squirm when they inadvertently assumed I was his daughter. We never took it personally though. It just made us smile and titter. It's the little things in widowhood that you miss the most."
