Doctor Hilary Jones alarmed by Ryanair 'loopholes' as flights resume

Doctor Hilary Jones has raised concerns about 'loopholes' with Ryanair flights after the airline's boss appeared on Good Morning Britain on Wednesday.

A list of air bridges looks set to be published by the end of the week, confirming destinations Brits will be able to fly to without the need to quarantine when they get there or return home.

And with travel companies already reporting a surge in bookings over the past few weeks, many people will soon be jetting off to sunnier climes.

Ryanair boss Michael O'Leary featured on GMB to face questions from hosts Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid as to whether it was safe to fly.

She told him: "Your passengers will not be able to observe social distancing. "They're all on top of each other."

He denied that was the case and added that face masks would be mandatory.

But that wasn't enough to assure Dr Hilary, who responded: "I listened to Michael O'Leary's interview and I just thought of so many loopholes in what he was saying.

"The hepafilters on airplanes do not filter out the virus - the virus is too small.

"People are not socially distancing, they are removing their masks to have a drink of tea, or coffee, or something else."

Going to specific concerns, he added: ""He did not mention toilets at all. We know the virus can be transmitted not just through respiratory means, but also through the oral-fecal route.

"He did not mention hands touching seats, armrests."
