HYDERABAD: A senior doctor died by suicide after opening fire using a gun at his residence in Banjara Hills in Telangana capital Hyderabad on Monday morning.
Deputy commissioner of police (West Zone) Joel Davis said that Mazheruddin Ali Khan (60) — who happens to be a relative of a popular politician from Hyderabad — shot himself at his residence with a weapon which is believed to be his licensed weapon.
On hearing the sound, his family members rushed to his room, where he was found lying in a pool of blood.
Immediately, he was shifted to a private hospital in Jubilee Hills where he died.
On knowing about the death of Mazheruddin, Chandrayanygutta MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi reached the hospital.
It is learnt that family disputes could be the cause of the death.
