Killer found with murder victim's bank card after beating doctor to death

A killer was found with his murder victim's bank card after brutally beating the doctor to death.

Jason Edwards, Lee Strickland and Dionne Timms-Williams were found guilty of murdering Dr Gary Jenkins in a Cardiff park on July 10, 2021.

Despite the 54-year-old pleading for his life during the brutal 15 minute attack, he was left for dead covered in blood.

One of the killers, Strickland, used his victim's bank card at an Esso Garage and was found in possession of the same card when arrested by police.

According to Wales Online, which covered the trial live, Edwards, who is from Liverpool, and Strickland, from Cardiff, were taken down to the cells after a judge saw them laughing just after the verdict was returned.

The jury took only four hours to reach a guilty verdict on all three defendants.

Mum knew something more was wrong with her son after he kept being sick

A mum said she knew something more was wrong with her baby after he kept being sick.

Keira Johnson, from Lydiate, first realised there was something wrong with son Maximus back in October 2017, who was 10 months old at the time.

The 39-year-old took him to the GP who said Maximus had a viral bug, but the sickness continued and the family noticed his right eye would occasionally roll.

Maximus continued to be sick, so Keira took him to Ormskirk and District General Hospital, where she was told he had an infection, but his condition got worse so they returned to the hospital two days later.

A consultant said it was likely Maximus had a viral bug, but was concerned about his eye so he sent him to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital for a CT scan. The scan revealed a mass on his brain.

He was diagnosed with an ependymoma brain tumour at 10 months old.
