Fremantle veteran David Mundy has re-signed for 2022 following a standout campaign that has thrust him into the All-Australian frame.

Mundy will notch his 350-game milestone when he lines up in Sunday's AFL clash with Sydney at Metricon Stadium.

The 36-year-old is averaging 25 disposals and 5.6 clearances per game this season, along with booting 13 goals.

Mundy is eyeing off the possibility of reaching 400 games, and said he was thrilled to earn a one-year extension for next year.

"One more year baby," Mundy told the Old Bull, Young Buck podcast on Wednesday.

"I'm stoked that we could get something done. I'm thrilled that I'm still playing well enough that the club want me.

"I'm still loving what I'm doing here. I'm thrilled to be kicking on for another year.

"I'll turn on the corny cheesy lines for just two seconds, but I've lived my dream 349 times.

"As a little boy coming through, I dreamed about playing AFL in my front yard. I've done that 349 times, so I feel very fortunate."

Mundy is yet to win a premiership, and said it was one of his driving motivations to continue playing on.

Fremantle are desperate to re-sign out-of-contract midfielder Adam Cerra, who is from Victoria and has attracted huge interest from rivals such as Carlton and Richmond.
