Docker Wilson offered one-match AFL ban

Nathan Wilson will miss Fremantle's AFL clash with Gold Coast if he accepts a one-game suspension. (AAP)

Fremantle defender Nathan Wilson has been offered a one-match suspension by the AFL for his low blow on Cody Weightman.

Wilson was caught holding the ball by the Western Bulldogs youngster early in the final quarter of Sunday's match at Optus Stadium and was on the ground when he reached up and made contact with Weightman's groin area.

The AFL match review officer assessed the incident as intentional conduct, low impact and groin contact.

It cost Wilson a 50-metre penalty and directly led to the goal that gave the Bulldogs breathing space, putting them 13 points clear.

The Dogs went on to win by 28 points.

If Wilson accepts the suspension, he will miss Saturday's clash with Gold Coast at Optus Stadium.

The Dockers have a bye in round 14 and Wilson could then return against Collingwood in round 15.

Wilson's ban would be another blow to the Dockers, who lost several players to injury in the loss to the Bulldogs.

Captain Nat Fyfe (shoulder), Brennan Cox (hamstring), Sean Darcy (hamstring), Mitch Crowden (shoulder) and Griffin Logue (concussion) were all hurt during the match.
