Doc Rivers stops game, grabs mic, and honors Dirk Nowitzki

Dirk Nowitzki’s legendary career is nearing its end, as the Dallas Mavericks are probably not going to make the playoffs this year.

So with just over 20 games left in the season, fans are getting their last opportunities to see the future Hall of Famer do his thing one last time.

On Monday night Dirk and the Mavs were in Los Angeles for his last game against the Clippers. And with nine seconds left in the game, Clippers coach Doc Rivers did something awesome – he stopped the game, grabbed the PA, and had the fans give Dirk one last standing ovation in the Staples Center.

“One of the greatest of all time,” Rivers said. “Dirk Nowitzki!”

Seriously, how awesome was that by Rivers?

What a classy gesture for a legendary player.
